HANS SCHAEFER TEST CONSULTING
Advanced and Special Test Methods
Duration varies by the context
This seminar is special; it contains topics not included in "ordinary"
testing seminars. Most of this you will not see in a standard ISEB
certification seminar, for example. Much of this is not described in
ordinary testing books either, rather it is spread in many papers and hard
to find articles. This seminar gives you knowledge you need if the
reliability in your systems must be high.
Basic Test Design Methods for Software Testers
1 day: seminar
2 days: seminar and workshop
You will learn: How to design test cases. The main methods to be
anywhere you make test cases. These methods should even be studied by
developers, programmers, and designers. There is also an introduction
into testing software components and integrating. You also learn about
tools, start and exit criteria and test coverage.
Integration, System and Acceptance Testing
1 day: general seminar
2 days: seminar in detail
You will learn: - How to integrate software, - How to test functions in
system and acceptance testing, - How to test non-functional
characteristics (performance etc.) in system and acceptance testing,
- How to build up a maintainable test system, - Which tools are for
automation.
Organizing, Managing and Optimizing Testing
1 day: seminar
2 days: seminar and workshop
You will learn: What is testing. How to organize it. What tools and
technology are there. Standards. Risk and priority. You also learn about
start and exit criteria and test coverage.
Preparing and Leading Technical Reviews
1 day: seminar
2 days: seminar and exercises
Planning, Managing and Running Technical Reviews, a one day tutorial.
The goal is to qualify the participants to organize and lead document
reviews. They should know what reviews can be used for, what types of
reviews to choose amongst, how to run them, how to lead them and how
to avoid reviews from turning into inefficient meetings.
Risk Based Testing
1 day: seminar
You will learn how to manage general project risks, test project risks,
and, as the main point, prioritizing testing.
Unit Testing
1 day: seminar
2 days: seminar and workshop
Goal: To give programmers the necessary skills they need to remove
local defects in their own code.
Defect removal here means code review, static analysis by tools, and
testing, where code review is not trained, only looked at when it comes
to making checklists.
